Ingredients
Ground beef (80/20 lean to fat ratio)
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
4 hamburger buns
Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and any other desired toppings
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions
1
Prepare the grill by heating one side to medium-high heat. Preheat a grill mat or grill grates on the other side to medium-low heat for buns.
2
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, and garlic. Use your hands to mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
3
Using your thumb, make a depression in the center of each patty. This will help the burgers cook evenly.
4
Place the patties onto the hot side of the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
5
Assemble the burgers with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and any other desired toppings. Serve immediately.
Storage & Reheating
Let leftover burgers cool completely, then refrigerate or freeze for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or on the grill until warmed through.
