1 pound beef strips (sirloin or ribeye)

    2 cups broccoli florets

    2 tablespoons vegetable oil

    2 cloves garlic, minced

    1 tablespoon grated ginger

    1/4 cup soy sauce

    1 tablespoon brown sugar

    1 tablespoon cornstarch

    1 cup beef broth

Why This Recipe Works

  • This recipe works because it’s all about searing the beef and broccoli in a wok or large skillet to bring out their natural flavors and textures. By using high heat and a small amount of oil, you’ll get a nice crust on the beef and a tender, slightly caramelized broccoli.
  • And let’s not forget about the sweet and savory flavor combination. A mixture of soy sauce, brown sugar, and ginger adds depth and a hint of spice, making this dish truly unforgettable.

Key Ingredients

When it comes to the beef, choose a high-quality cut like sirloin or ribeye. For the broccoli, you can use either fresh or frozen – just make sure it’s at room temperature before starting. For the soy sauce, look for a high-quality brand that’s free from additives and artificial flavors.

When it comes to the cornstarch, make sure to sprinkle it evenly over the beef and broccoli to avoid any lumps. And don’t forget to serve with a side of fluffy rice to soak up all that delicious sauce!
