Ingredients

1 lb beef strips (95% lean)

2 cups pasta (linguine or fettuccine)

2 tbsp olive oil

1 onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup chicken broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 tsp dried basil

1 tsp dried oregano

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

2
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

3
Add the beef strips to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked to your liking. Transfer the beef to a plate and set aside.

4
In the same skillet, add the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it reduce slightly, until the sauce has thickened.

5
Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Let it heat through until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and dried basil. Add the cooked beef back into the skillet and toss to combine.

Storage & Reheating

After cooking, let the pasta dish cool completely before refrigerating or freezing. When reheating, make sure to heat it thoroughly to avoid foodborne illnesses. You can reheat it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes or in the oven at 350°F (180°C) for 5-7 minutes.
