1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup sourdough starter

1 cup dark chocolate chips

Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Directions

1
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

3
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

4
Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.

5
Gradually mix in the flour mixture, followed by the sourdough starter and chocolate chips. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.

Storage & Reheating

To store leftovers, simply let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack, then transfer them to an airtight container. Keep them at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. To reheat, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until warmed through.
