3-Ingredient Cream Cheese Sausage Dip (Pork-Free)

Pork-free cream cheese sausage dip with turkey sausage, tomatoes and tortilla chips.

A warm, creamy, pork-free cream cheese sausage dip made with just three ingredients: ground turkey breakfast sausage, full-fat brick cream cheese, and diced tomatoes with green chilies. An easy stovetop appetizer served with tortilla chips or toasted bread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (454 g) ground turkey breakfast sausage, confirmed pork-free
  • 16 oz (454 g) full-fat brick cream cheese, cubed
  • 1 can (10 oz / 283 g) diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained

Instructions

  1. Place the ground turkey breakfast sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. Break it into small crumbles and cook for approximately 8–12 minutes, until it reaches 165°F (74°C) internally. Drain excess rendered fat if necessary.
  2. Reduce the heat to low. Add the cubed full-fat cream cheese and stir gently for approximately 5–7 minutes, until the cheese softens and combines with the sausage.
  3. Add the entire can of diced tomatoes with green chilies, including the liquid. Stir gently and heat for approximately 2–4 minutes, until thoroughly hot and evenly combined.
  4. Serve warm with sturdy tortilla chips, pita chips, or toasted bread. If holding hot for serving, maintain the dip at 140°F (60°C) or above.

Notes

Strictly Pork-Free

Choose ground turkey breakfast sausage with a verified pork-free ingredient label. Check for pork fat, mixed meats, and pork-derived casings.

Preventing Excess Grease

  • Drain excessive fat after browning the sausage.
  • Use low heat when incorporating the cream cheese.
  • Avoid prolonged boiling or aggressive heating.
  • A slight natural sheen is possible; complete prevention of separation cannot be guaranteed.

RoTel Tomatoes

Use one 10-ounce can, including its liquid. For a thicker dip in a future batch, experiment with using less canning liquid.

Slow Cooker

Prepare the dip completely on the stovetop before transferring it while hot to a preheated slow cooker. Check that the holding temperature remains at 140°F (60°C) or above. Do not use Warm to reheat refrigerated leftovers.

Storage and Reheating

Refrigerate leftovers promptly at 40°F (4°C) or below in shallow covered containers. Use properly stored leftovers within 3–4 days. Reheat thoroughly to 165°F (74°C).
