Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup grated cheddar cheese (optional)
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Directions

1
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Rinse the chicken thighs and pat them dry with paper towels.
2
In a large skillet or Dutch oven, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs and cook until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes.
3
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, chicken broth, heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the chicken and bring to a simmer.
4
Transfer the skillet or Dutch oven to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
5
If desired, sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese over the top of the chicken and return to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
