★★★★★ (55 Reviews)
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
2 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Directions
1
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs and cook until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
2
In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
3
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, shredded cheddar cheese, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Pour the mixture over the cooked onion and garlic in the skillet.
4
Add the browned chicken thighs back into the skillet and pour the creamy sauce over the top. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is bubbly.
5
Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh herbs if desired. Enjoy!
